As a Graphic Designer at Latitude Geographics, you’ll have a unique and integral role as a member of our Marketing team; both internal and external projects will benefit from your knack for visual design and communication. From growing and reinforcing our brand across multiple channels – to designing compelling, premium digital and social content – to helping us stand out at events, you’ll find each day provides new creative challenges and experiences.
We’re looking for creativity, talent, and a razor-sharp attention to detail; this position requires a combination of creative vision and tactical organizational skills. You will be the sole designer on the team, which will give you creative control (within our brand guidelines, of course!) and autonomy in many of the decisions you will make. This doesn’t mean you will be alone, however: you will support – and be supported by – a team of exceptional software developers, training and support professionals, account managers and executives, and a tight-knit Marketing team that can’t wait for you to join us!
As a web-based geography company, knowledge of GIS and Internet mapping is a big asset, but we’re primarily interested in your core skills. You can learn what we do as you go along… the world of technology moves quickly, and we are constantly learning, too.
Responsibilities
- Act as a brand steward – assessing new products, solutions, and offerings against our guidelines – and create accompanying iconography, diagrams, and illustrations
- Design and produce print collateral, including: brochures, rack cards, product guides, business cards, advertisements, and documents
- Enable our Sales and Partners teams by enhancing proposals, creating sell sheets, producing internal product training and positioning documentation, and building captivating presentations
- Help us make an impact at events with eye-catching booth designs, banners, signage, and swag
- Create campaign-specific microsites and landing pages, event pages, and discovery environments for prospective customers to learn more about our software
- Contribute to our email marketing efforts by developing newsletter templates and visual assets
- Work with our Digital Marketing Lead on our digital and social marketing efforts, and create premium content (eBooks, whitepapers, customer case studies) to help tell our story
- Liaise with our Multimedia Producer to create consistent visual experiences via video
- Using our content management system (CMS), make regular updates to our website, including: product release pages, training calendar updates, and events calendar updates
- Ensure all assets (design files, photos, etc.) are properly managed and organized
Required Skills & Experience
- Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
- HTML, CSS
- Fluency with PC operating systems and strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience developing brands and presenting their value/meaning to stakeholders.
- Print design and production expertise.
- Effective time management/juggling multiple operational priorities and longer-term projects.
- Highly organized and able to work both independently (as a sole designer) and as a key contributor (to a larger Marketing team).
- Proven success with illustration (vector, flat) and icon development.
- Ability to give and receive feedback, and incorporate the results to create even more compelling designs.
Would love to see
- Experience with SASS, GULP, and JavaScript.
- Experience working with large print design (for events/booth design) .
- Experience working with content management systems (CMS). Working knowledge of Umbraco is an asset.
- Experience working with marketing automation systems. Working knowledge of Pardot an asset.
- Experience designing in Salesforce environments. Experience with Salesforce Communities in particular is an asset.
- Experience working with (or within) a creative agency.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree, certification, or diploma in Graphic Design, or a closely-related discipline.
- A strong portfolio of work that clearly demonstrates not only your technical and artistic skills as a designer, but also clearly defines the visual problem(s) you solved, and gives some indication as to how you arrived at your results.
