LOCATION: City Centre Park located at 1097 Langford Parkway Victoria BC.
DEPARTMENT: Bowling Alley
REPORTS TO: Facility Manager, Kristin St. Cyr
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE
Customer Service Representatives are responsible for greeting and signing in customers for the Bowling Alley, cash handling, customer service and general administrative tasks. The Employees may be expected to help out in other departments and facilities such as the Westhills Ice Arena, Westhills Splash Park (Seasonal) and Outdoor Rink (Seasonal, as well as the Eagle Ridge Community Centre Concession. Each Employee is responsible in the upkeep of cleanliness, and providing great customer service to our customers.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Meet and Greet every customer as they arrive and as they leave
    • Provide a fun, safe environment for all customers
    • Ring in and inform customers of the various ways they can bowl
    • Keep a clean and tidy front desk and surrounding area
    • Efficiently ring in leagues and ensure they run smoothly
    • Ensure VIP and Birthday parties have a good time and are rung into the vector system properly
    • Enter names and bumpers for parties that require it or when large parties purchasing by the game
    • Communicate with supervisors on any problems or concerns you have
    • Have Balanced cash outs, or voice discrepancies and explain why
    • Look through reservations and familiarize yourself on upcoming daily/weekly/reservations upon arrival. Prepare and paperwork for reservations (leagues/birthday parties/school shoe forms)
    • Have excellent bowling knowledge to answer and/all questions from guests
    • Hourly Bathroom checks
    • Putting balls back on racks from the ball return when guests finish bowling on lanes
    • Cleaning and wiping down tables to expedite resale of lanes
    • Retrieve gutter balls and listen for machine problems
    • Communicate properly to mechanics over radios
    • Always be professional in mannerism, appearance and communication with anyone within the facility guest or colleague
    • Referring questions regarding Bookings and reservations to reception
    • Staying calm/collected during busy peak times
    • Being able to multi-task through an assortment of duties
    • Communicate with co-workers on all reservations and parties (being on same page)
    • Wear Proper uniform/shoes, clean and neat
    • Be aware of all daily rate changes and charge accordingly
    • Sign out floats and double count to $300- Keep track of all coupon types/free games/time accepted and reasons why
    • Manage the waitlist efficiently
    • Maintaining confidentiality regarding Langford Lanes matters
    • Working together as a team on all reservations
    • Listen to your supervisors and do not challenge or go against what they say
    • Be aware of accidently/injuries and fill out an incident form no matter how insignificantREQUIREMENTS:
    • Standard Level 1 First Aid

Positive attitude – Each Employee takes pride in their work as well as having a positive attitude when dealing with customers and other staff members.WORKING CONDITIONS
    Work is performed in the bowling facility. Cashiers may have the flexibility of working in the Playzone and during seasonal times at the Outdoor Ice Rink and the Splash Park. Employees may be subject to lifting items, pushing and operating vacuums, and other light cleaning duties. This job requires shift work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays fluctuating with the needs of the facilities. Where possible the facility manager will take into consideration requests for preferred days of times off work or particular days off, but there is no guarantee that requests will be accommodated and will only do the best to balance the requests of all Senior and Junior Customer Service Representatives with the needs of the facility.
